The world's most pressing challenges share one root cause: an outdated mindset.
I moved to the United States in 1993 to study computer science and went on to lead technology and security strategy for Fortune 100 enterprises on three continents. I built a 24x7 global security operations centre, led incident response and identity programmes, and reported cyber risk to executive leadership.
For the last decade I have run a parallel mission in India: mentoring young people, training security leaders and mobilising professionals around civic and digital governance. I also mentor early-stage cybersecurity and AI startups, and I argue that cybersecurity is a pillar of national sovereignty, not just a technical function. I split my time between Hyderabad and Plano, Texas. A line from my guru shaped all of it: “True success cannot be just individual success but needs to be inclusive and must contribute to others’ success too.”
Community work: close to 1,000 mentorship sessions over a decade with iFocus Mission; mentor at the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), 2018 to 2022; and committee member of the Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) academia wing, focused on cyber security and future skills.
